Waste valorization

Incineration Residue Recycling (Bottom Ash Recycling)

The WtE Plant, a Natural Partner of the Cement Sector

The plant will produce 20 to 30% pure ash without leachate, representing a potential of 25,000 to 31,500 tons per year. This material can economically and efficiently replace clinker in the cement mix and will support the local artisanal brick manufacturing. The Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) is currently seeking agreements for the sale of this ash with one or more cement plants.

Bottom Ash also Used in Construction and Road Building Sector

Other valorization solutions for this bottom ash exist in the field of construction and road building, where these residues can contribute, following a circular economy model, to the urban development of the rapidly expanding Touba urban area, it is now the fastest growing city in Senegal which translate with an increase demand for power. There is currently a power deficit in the Touba cbd and its surroundings.
