The sponsor: Merl Solar Technologies GmbH
An Austrian company operating in renewable energy with extensive experience in various projects in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa, such as the 20 MWe Photovoltaic installation in Kahone Senegal and the electrification project of 41 Senegalese off the grid villages. MERL has registered the SPV and is the main sponsor the project.

Witech Africa, established in 1970, is one of the few African companies specializing in Energy Valorization based in Sandton, South Africa. They are part of the Witech Group based in Hong-Kong (Note : rajouter ça dans la version Française SVP ) with strategic offices in France, Bulgaria, and operations across countries like Senegal, Ghana, Gabon, Nigeria, Eastern Europe, and France. Witech Africa aims to facilitate sustainable and profitable energy valorization technologies throughout Africa. The team at Witech is overseeing the project’s co-development and ensuring coordination among various stakeholders, particularly in waste and technology sectors. Witech is also a sponsor of the project and its lead project developer.

CNIM MARTIN Private Limited, founded in 2017 in Chennai, India, and equally owned by PAPREC Group and MARTIN GmbH, holds exclusive licenses for waste combustion technologies from Martin GmbH and waste energy recovery boiler technologies from PAPREC ENGINEERING CNIM. They aim to address the waste energy market competitively in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa by integrating Paprec Engineering CNIM and Martin GmbH’s expertise. CNIM MARTIN is the project OEM.

The EPC: CNEEC (China National Electric Engineering Company Ltd)
CNEEC, a state-owned enterprise under SINOMACH, has a successful track record, including constructing a large Waste to Energy plant in Ethiopian actually the first W2E plant of the continent. They have collaborated with CNIM MARTIN on multiple projects. For Touba, CNEEC is responsible for delivering a comprehensive fully wrap EPC solution.
The local Contractor: Ecosalubre
Ecosalubre, a Senegalese company based in Touba, specializes in integrated waste management activities such as collection, recycling, sorting, street cleaning, equipment supply, and construction of waste management facilities. They are an essential local participant in the project co-waste collection company contracted to SONAGED.

The Waste Management Operator: SONAGED
The SONAGED is a new national company responsible for waste management, replacing the Solid Waste Coordination and Management Unit (UCG). They focus on waste collection, recycling, and valorization, partnering with the private sector and local authorities to implement the national waste management strategy. SONAGED is the site concessionor, the main waste feed supplier and signature to the PPP.
The Energy Partner : Senelec
In accordance with Law No. 98-29 of April 14, 1998, regarding the electricity sector, SENELEC has a monopoly on electricity transmission throughout the national territory. Its network is well developed, including in the municipalities of Mbacké and Touba.
Also, SENELEC boasts a strong financial position compared to other national operators in the region. They also want and encourage a better energy mix.
